Projects Assessment Criteria

1. Project Requirements
  • Beneficiaries shall come from local communities or shall be Hong Kong residents.
  • Measureable social return shall be evident.
  • Donation-only projects will NOT be accepted.
  • Neutral on political stance and religion.
  • Technology should be used as a medium to help the beneficiaries.
2. Application Requirements
  • All applications must be submitted through HKBN CSI Team. Talents and other project partners can email their proposals to CSI Team (csi@hkbn.com.hk). CSI Team will have a first review and submit to the Committee for approval upon common consent on the proposal content.
3. Target Beneficiaries
  • Priority will be given to projects targeted at youth (aged 6 to 28).
  • Projects that are related to the environment protection (such as conservation, animal protection or low carbon living) will be of lower priority but will also be considered if it proves itself to be influential to the society and can generate enormous social values.
4. Project Duration
  • One-off events to 2-year projects are welcome
5. Number of Talents Involved
  • HKBN Talents must be involved in the project, yet there is no upper and lower limit on the number of Talents involved in each project.
6. Project Budget
  • Projects with a budget over HK$250,000 require special approval from the Steering Committee.
7. Project Location
  • Activities and events of the projects can be held in Hong Kong or any cities or countries
8. Evaluation Criteria

Project feasibility
  • Whether the project can be effectively implemented with sound project planning, adequate manpower, proper expenditure and contingency plan in place. Higher marks will be given to projects organized by Talents and partners with relevant experience.
20 marks
Sustainability
  • Whether the project can bring long-term and continued benefits to the community.
30 marks
Social value
  • Whether the project can generate high social impact to the target beneficiaries. Higher marks will be given to projects having high potential to benefit other part of the society, addressing urgent and critical social issues, and effectively raising public awareness of such issues.
50 marks

* All applications should gain at least 50 marks to be approved.
